Many of you may be aware that our beloved mother and best friend, Wendy Peters is in need of a liver transplant. She puts us and others before herself and is always reaching out to those in need. She has been a resident of Amissville VA for 29 years. In addition to us, her three daughters, she has three very small grandchildren, her husband and her parents. Our family is extremely close and Wendy is adored by all of us. Wendy has been self-employed for the last nine years but due to poor health she is now unable to work.
Wendy contracted hepatitis while working in the medical field about 25 years ago. She was also recently diagnosed with a cancerous lesion on her liver believed to have evolved from cirrhosis. We have been advised that until her life saving transplant takes place this will be an ongoing issue. This has caused great concern with her team of doctors and created urgency to proceed as soon as possible. A liver transplant is now her only chance of survival.
To help offset her uninsured costs, a fundraising campaign in Wendy’s honor has been established with HelpHOPELive (formerly NTAF), a nonprofit organization that has been assisting the transplant community for nearly 30 years. All contributions are tax deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the South-Atlantic Liver Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only. You can help make a difference in Wendy’s life. Please consider making a contribution.Together we can make a difference by assisting Wendy during this difficult time. Thank you in advance for your generosity and support of our mother.
