I have known Tommy Phillips for more than 11 years. Tommy has always been a hard working individual, striving to provide for everything his family needed. Until now! Tommy can no longer work. His heart just will not let him. Doctors have determined that a heart transplant is his only chance for a return to health.
Tommy suffers from congestive heart failure and his heart is giving out. He can no longer enjoy the little things you and I take for granted. He can no longer enjoy a walk in the park with his wife, or play a simple game of catch in the yard with his sons. Just a short walk from the house to his car for a trip to the doctor’s office is more effort than he can handle. He is out of breath all the time. Little thing like taking a bath, brushing his teeth, and even getting dressed requires help. Without his wife’s full time assistance, he wouldn’t be able to get out of bed each day.
Tommy Phillips is the friend who would always give a person a helping hand. He’s the kind of man you knew you could count on in a time of need. Now, Tommy is the one who needs some help.
Having been unable to work for a long time due to his failing heart, Tommy is facing this transplant with serious financial concerns. Even with Medicaid, he is looking at large medical bill co-pays and expensive life-long medications. Travel to Tampa General Hospital for Tommy and his wife for both the transplant and follow-up visits will add up. Tommy needs our assistance to get through this difficult time.
To help with these uninsured expenses, a fundraising campaign has been established in Tommy’s honor with HelpHOPELive, a non-profit organization that has been assisting the transplant community for more than 28 years. Donations are fully tax-deductible and will be used only for transplant-related expenses. To help:

Tommy never knows when he’ll have another heart attack or if it will be his last. Tommy is a fighter and he will do whatever it takes to overcome this challenge. I fear that without your help and the help of God Almighty this is one battle Tommy just might not win.
Thank you for your time, and any help you can provide.
