Dear Family and Friends,
Corwyn Pierce (Cory) of Durham, California is awaiting a liver transplant and desperately needs the help and prayers of his friends, family and the community. Cory learned of his condition by chance during the removal of his gallbladder. The surgeon performing the procedure spotted the alarming condition of his liver and took a biopsy. Over the next two months after several tests, it was discovered that Cory had unknowingly been living with Hepatitis C, which had aggressively attacked his liver. He is now in stage four liver failure; enduring the most painful and challenging trial of his life. Without a whole liver transplant, Cory will lose his battle for life.
Cory is now on the liver transplant waiting list at Stanford University Medical Center in Palo Alto, California. However, even with medical insurance many of his needs will not be covered and must be paid out of pocket. We anticipate substantial uninsured costs, such as healthcare deductibles, co-payments, medications, travel and lodging expenses. Fundraising has become necessary in order to offset these costs which the Pierce family cannot cover alone. We need your help. Cory’s family has begun a fundraising campaign with HelpHOPELive in honor of him. HelpHOPELive is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that has been assisting the transplant community for over 25 years. All donations are tax deductible to the full extent of the law.
If you would like to help Cory win this battle, we welcome any size charitable contribution:
