Hello everyone, friends and family. My name is Isaac Ramirez and I am 61 yrs old. I am raising money for the medical part of a kidney transplant.

I was a truck driver for 35 years but in 2007 I ended up in the hospital. The doctors came to my room after doing several tests and xrays and asked if I had ever had a kidney removed. I told the doctor no, I have not. Then she asked me if I wanted to hear the good news or the bad news first. She went on to tell me that the good news is that I was still alive, and my condition could be fixed however it would be a long road. The bad news was that I only had one kidney and it was only functioning at 20%.

She then explained to me that I would need lifesaving dialysis or a kidney transplant. Here I am, 12 years later basically on life support. I go to all my dialysis appointments and have even lost all the weight they wanted me to lose to prepare for a kidney transplant. I have been asked by my transplant team to raise 6,000 over the next 9 months to help cover the cost of doctor visits as well as the immunosuppressant medications that are very expensive and not covered by insurance. This medication will help my body not reject the new kidney.
