When it comes to home repairs, Elizabeth is the one who has to replace electrical light sockets, has sanded down her kitchen cabinets, painted the walls, unplugs the drains and all of this while caring for Daniel and their growing son Evan’s needs. Don’t get me wrong, Daniel is very much a part of all the repairs, he guides Elizabeth, with his gentle voice instructions as she pulls electrical wires out of the walls. sometimes he has to be able to calmly cheer her on as she attempts to kill spiders that are sometimes bigger than she.
Daniel does not like to ask anyone for help, don’t we all? It has come to a place that on SSI it sometimes is not an actuality to do everything by yourself, but sometimes it really does take village to raise a child. They are really in need of their restrooms being handicapped fitted so that Elizabeth does not have to struggle so hard to pull his body from the wheel chair into a standard shower chair and with this fundraiser with Help Hope Live your donation will be assured by fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductible to the full extent allowed by law for donors. Donors can be sure that funds donated will be used only to pay or reimburse medically-related expenses. To make a tax-deductible donation to this fundraising campaign, click on the Give button.

Thank you…..
Hello everyone, this is Daniel's wife Elizabeth. I would like to thank those who have donated to help Daniel. This past year we've became first time homeowners, and with the Help Hope Live, we've raised enough money to purchase laminate flooring. Carpet is not any wheelchair users best friend, so we had to change the flooring to help a quadriplegic out lol. Now we're in this struggle with the bathroom. It's a very small bathroom and it is a struggle to transfer Daniel from his wheelchair and into the shower bench. I'm a petite person and I don't have a whole lot of strength to transfer him in that position. I will post a picture of the bathroom as soon as I can so you guys can get an ideal what I've been dealing with. I've been dealing with back pain, and I really hurt my back a few months ago during the transfer into the shower. My main dream is to get the bathroom fully remodeled, but I know its expensive to get that done. I really hate asking for help to be honest, so I'm still undecided on what to do with the bathroom. There is possibilities to get a ceiling lift to transfer or the shower buddy. I would love people's opinions on what would work best in a small bathroom to make it accessible. Once again, I would like to thank those who have helped us out with the donations. It helps Daniel a lot! I'm still aiming to get Daniel into Project Walk or some type of therapy for SCI, but our main goal for now is to get us situated with the house.
Hey guys thank you so much for your help so far! Our new goal right now is to purchase a Shower Buddy. I normally give Daniel a bed bath unless one of his relatives decide to come over and help me get him into the shower which is about twice a month. I hate having to rely on relatives, especially when they are busy and not able to come out to our house. A shower buddy costs nearly as $3000. Let's face it, I'm sure we all prefer taking showers over a bed bath. I hope everyone enjoyed their holidays, I will keep you guys in touch on the latest.
So far this year, my parents were able to help us purchasing a new (ok a used) van. Our old one had no A/C and for a man that doesn't sweat anymore and not to mention that we live in the high desert, A/C was a must! The lift on the old van caused problems where Daniel ended up stranded in the van! So we are blessed with the van right now where Daniel always wants to get out of the house! Lol. Also to keep everyone updated, Daniel is on Medicare. Medicare doesn't help out much and it won't help cover the cost to fix his chair. There has been a recall on the controller to his chair, luckily since its a recall but we don't know what all that it entails. Other problems to his chair is that the feet won't elevate up which is pretty important for him when his blood pressure drops. Also one small detail of his chair is that the knee brackets broke off which is why you see in pictures that his legs are wrapped together. Daniel went to therapy for a little bit in our town to work on his arms, but since Medicare won't cover much, we couldn't keep up with the payments. Daniel has been doing little workouts by using therapy bands or by using custom gloves that his mother made for him and attaching dumbbells on them. Well little Evan just woke up, hope everyone is doing well. Thank you for your support!

Daniel,
I remember when you were just a little boy and I used to watch you and your brothers and sister. You are going to get through this with God by your side. Here is the key..never give up Hope, never give up expecting your prayers to be answered!!! Stand on the scriptures concerning your healing! Faith comes by hearing the word. I know you may feel discouraged at times hun, but God sees the bigger picture where we can not. Rest in his loving arms and know that he IS GOD and he WILL and IS and ALWAYS take care of you. You are loved, you are beautiful, you are a gift from God; his own creation. Your a gift to all mankind, his gift of love to them, you are loved, God danced the day you were born. Just know you are have so many people who love you and are holding you close in prayer. You will grow stronger through this Daniel. The storm may look overwhelming but, just remind those storms how BIG your God is.
Congratulations on your beautiful baby! Holding you close in prayer and in heart.
Much love,
