We are writing to you on behalf of our son, Daren Rodgers. Daren recently suffered a life-changing spinal cord injury following a devastating fall when knocked off a ladder. Now a quadriplegic with no use of his legs and limited use of his arms.
Daren graduated from Terry Parker High School and attended FCCJ in Jacksonville, Florida. He and his wife, Wendy enjoy the outdoors, traveling, and spending time with family.
In spite of the many struggles he faces, Daren remains hopeful that he will be able to return to a productive life in the community through the support of family and friends. Daren is hoping to enter an intensive therapy program that will strengthen his body and help him regain some additional function in his arms and hands.
To help with the expenses of the vehicle, home modifications and rehab, a fundraising campaign in Daren’s honor has been established with HelpHOPELive (formerly NTAF),a nonprofit organization that has been assisting the transplant community for nearly 30 years. In 2000, they expanded their mission to include those who have sustained a catastrophic injury. All contributions are tax deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the Southeast Spinal Cord Injury Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for injury-related expenses only.
