I really wanted to share what I came home to early tonight. On this emotion filled eve of the 1 year anniversary since my transplant I want to honor my donor in heaven and thank my beautiful wife and family and friends. My wife surprised me tonight with a green – the green candle symbolizes organ donor awareness. Much love to all – T
Terry is doing well overall he goes for his one year post op bunch of tests next week. He had a little hospital overnight stay to get hydrated with some IV fluids a few weeks ago. It was a scare, but he is ok . With his suppressed immune system and especially during this time of year he picked up a bug and it got the best of him. But he is good now.
June 1, 2013 Update – It has been almost 6 months post-op! Terry is doing well other than his chronic nerve pain he is dealing with from the surgery, but he handles it with such grace you’d never know. His procedure in April was a success. He goes to UVA this month for his 6 month post-op checkup where they will perform several tests/scans. Terry will be able to share in the joy of watching our 5 year old graduate from Pre-Kindergarten next week. He is so grateful for his gift of life to be able to share in this joy. We can’t say it enough-Thank you Thank you Thank you all contributors to Terry’s fund!
Apr 12, 2013 Update- Terry is back to teaching and normalcy now and doing well for the most part. He is dealing with some common post transplant issues/pain and is currently being closely monitored in regards to another red flag, but overall is doing well. He goes to UVA later this month for a procedure, so please wish us luck that the procedure is a success. We are so grateful for all the well wishes and donations. We would love to thank you all personally, so please know that we thank you deeply! – Terry and Michele
Jan 18, 2013 Update – Terry is doing well and making strides each and every day. We know his recovery will be a long tough one, but we are so thankful that he is doing well right now and are counting our blessings…that is not to say it’s easy as he is still having side effects from meds and working with physical therapist to get back his strength has been challenging but it’s good.
December 27 Update – Terry was home for Christmas – a Christmas Miracle! He is continuing to make progress each day and is doing well. One day at a time 🙂
Dec 18, 2012 Update – Terry received his Transplant on Dec 5th, 2012. He is still in the hospital fighting some complications, but today God answered our prayers and the doctors now have a handle on the main issue and are working toward getting it resolved. We are hopeful he may be home for Christmas. We are so overwhelmed and grateful for all the many well wishes and donations. Thank you deeply for your generosity and continued prayers – Terry and Michele
Dear Friends,
Some of you may know Terry Rounds from having supported his more than 30 year professional music career in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Some of you may know him from the Office of Public Affairs at Fairfax County Government, or from his former career in the commercial printing industry. Or perhaps you may take and have taken guitar lessons from him. In addition to his passion for playing guitar, Terry enjoys gardening and cooking, but these hobbies are now harder for him to do because he is ill. Knowing Terry, you know he is a kind-spirited individual who engages people and makes them feel special. He is a loving husband and father.
In December 2011 he was diagnosed with liver cancer. Terry has undergone many treatments. He is currently being treated at The University of Virginia Health System and has been told that his only real chance for survival is to have a liver transplant — he is currently on the active transplant waiting list. Terry is grateful for the opportunity of the gift-of-life through transplantation.
Even with insurance, Terry will have many uninsured transplant-related expenses such as: co-pays and deductibles, pre and post-transplant doctor visits, his unpaid time off work, travel and temporary relocation, possible out-of-network expenses and the costly immunosuppressant medications that he will need to take for the rest of his life. This presents a financial challenge the family cannot meet alone.
To help offset his uninsured costs, a fundraising campaign in Terry’s honor has been established with HelpHOPELive (formerly NTAF), a nonprofit organization that has been assisting the transplant community for nearly 30 years. All contributions are tax-deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the South-Atlantic Liver Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only. You can help make a difference in Terry’s life. Please consider making a contribution.Your prayers and support are deeply appreciated. On behalf of the Rounds family, thank you for your kindness and generosity.

Terry and Michele, even though many of us who have posted to your guestbook may seem silent, I am certain there are a number of us praying for your family and for Terry's body to except his new liver. God is sovereign over all things and I am praying for his favor and wisdom for Terry to not do too much while he lives his life with his new liver.

Terry, I am sorry to hear that you have been ill. It has been awhile since we have seen you after Chris stopped taking lessons. He was just saying the other day that he wanted to start lessons again. You are a great instructor and helped Chris find his love of the guitar. We are both wishing you the best. Hoping you will overcome any complications and heal quickly. We will be thinking of you and your family.

Terry, I am a coworker of Michele's and I wanted to say hello and I am praying for your complete healing and receiption of this transplant.
"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you, declares the Lord." Jeremiah 29:11-14
God is so much bigger then these circumstances and is a God that heals. I am praying with great FAITH in Him to heal you. I am also praying for peace and rest too. Grace 2 U, Lynne Wilson
