I am writing on behalf of my brother, Chris Russell. Chris was born with a congenital heart defect. Chris has overcome many challenges and obstacles to lead an active and contributing life as well as being an amazing brother, son, uncle, and boyfriend to Nicole Vickery. His health deteriorated to the point that he was in need of a life-saving heart and liver transplant. We are thrilled to tell you that on June 3rd, Chris received the gift of life. He received a heart and liver transplant.
A transplant is very expensive. Even with insurance, there are many expenses that must be paid for out of pocket. Some of these include hospital co-pays, COBRA costs, transportation for follow-up treatments, and Chris will be on a life-time of anti-rejection medications. This is where your support and help is needed.
A fundraising campaign, in Chris’ honor has been established with HelpHOPELive (HelpHOPELive). HelpHOPELive has been assisting the transplant community with fundraising for more than 28 years. All contributions are administered by HelpHOPELive exclusively for uninsured transplant-related expenses. Donations are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law. Please consider making a contribution in Chris’ honor today.

It is never easy to ask for help and now is no exception. Chris has touched the lives of many and we deeply appreciate the support he has received. At times like this the assistance of family, friends, and the community is crucial to help ensure a positive outcome.
Thank you for support of my brother Chris. His strength, determination, and perseverance are an inspiration for us all.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Jennifer Russell
