YOU CAN HELP MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Nasha Shaw needs our help. She has end stage renal failure and is receiving dialysis three times a week for three and a half hours a day. This is keeping her alive. Nasha’s doctors at Tampa General Hospital have told her that her only chance at a long and healthy life is a kidney transplant.
At just 36 years old, Nasha is very active in her church and is always willing to help her community, family, and friends in every way. She has a strong faith and belief in Christ – it is Nasha’s faith that sustains her through this illness. She continues to stay positive while she waits for a transplant.
Although Nasha has insurance, it will not cover all of her transplant-related expenses. In addition to the cost of the surgery itself, there will be many out-of-pocket expenses, including hospital visits, copays and deductibles, travel to and from the transplant center, and the costly anti-rejection medications Nasha will have to take for the rest of her life. All of this presents a challenge she cannot meet without our help.
To assist with these expenses, a fundraising campaign in Nasha’s honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a nonprofit organization that has been assisting the transplant community for 30 years. All donations are tax deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the Southeast Kidney Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only. At times like this, the help of family, friends and the community is crucial. Nasha is committed to doing whatever is necessary to reach her goals and she looks forward to living a long and healthy life after her transplant.
