Since that time she has been confined to a wheelchair. Peyton is now in seventh grade and has grown considerably since her illness. Currently Peyton is lifted from her wheelchair onto the car seat. Her wheelchair is then folded and lifted into the trunk of the vehicle. The wheelchair is very heavy and most wouldn’t be able to lift it into the car. This limits the opportunities for Peyton to go places other than to and from school.
Peyton would be more mobile if she had a wheelchair van. Her wheelchair would hold up better. The electric accessories for driving the wheelchair could be left on. Her family and friends would then be able to easily transport Peyton giving her more frequent outings.
Family and friends of Peyton Boggs are raising money to pay for a wheelchair van – uninsured medical expenses associated with catastrophic injury.
Peyton has chosen to fundraise with HelpHOPELive in part because HelpHOPELive provides both tax-deductibility and fiscal accountability to contributors. Contributors can be sure that funds contributed will be used only to pay or reimburse medically-related expenses. For more information, please contact HelpHOPELive at 800-642-8399.
