Please give me a minute of your time so that I can tell you about my husband, Sonny Snelbaker, Jr. He desperately needs a double lung transplant and won’t survive too long without one. We are reaching out to you to ask for your help.

Three years ago Sonny was diagnosed with Alpha-1 Anti-Trypsin Disease, an inherited lung disorder. The disease has progressed to the point that he needs a lung transplant. Specialists at Inova Fairfax Hospital in Fairfax, Virginia have determined that Sonny is a good candidate for the procedure.

Transplants are life-saving but very expensive. Sonny is facing many pre- and post-transplant expenses that won’t be covered by insurance. Some of these out-of-pocket costs are co-pays for doctors’ visits, travel and lodging in Virginia for at least six weeks after the transplant and very expensive anti-rejection medications that Sonny will need to take for the rest of his life.
