Please help Patricia K Bonner MD with medical expenses ongoing since her small intestinal transplant in 2005.
Here is a brief update:
For the last several years she has required IV nutrition (TPN) because of poor bowel function. She had a stroke in 2013 resulting in left sided weakness requiring 24-hour nursing assistance. Recently, she developed acute rejection and will require surgical removal of the ill transplant organ.
Please consider a donation to defray her expenses for TPN daily and home nursing assistance. Tricia keeps an amazing positive outlook meeting each day with courage, hope, faith, and God’s grace. Thank you so very much for your willingness to support her ongoing needs.

Patricia continues to make the most of every day. She celebrated her 20th Anniversary of her transplant surgery this past September 2022. She moved to a new home closer to her major care taker ,Maria. Maria orchestrates everything .She is a remarkable, loving ,energetic lady whom we are so grateful to have leading her team of CNAs. They assist her with a daily medical regimen and with her activities through the day and cares at night. Her transplanted bowel continues to absorb suboptimally, but she is able to digest selective foods and does enjoy those. Unfortunately, she continues to require TPN supplements. She has a great local primary physician and is also followed by the UCLA transplant team. Living on her own like this ,she now rarely requires hospitalization for infections. That has been a huge blessing. Since the Covid pandemic has declined, she is getting out to church most Sundays again. Remarkably, she continues to count her blessings .New hobbies include growing roses and herbs in her garden and sketching them. She also gets much pleasure from watching the activity of hummingbirds in her backyard, mixing up banana bread in the kitchen and viewing pics and videos of her niece and nephew.( 5 yrs and 1 yr respectively).Please write to her or find her on Facebook :
