My name is Chris Taylor, a resident of Salt Lake City. Over the years I have always felt so fortunate. I loved my job teaching a variety of students from the 3rd grade through to the college level. I’m equally blessed that many of my students have stayed in touch with me.

However, in 2001, I was diagnosed with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), a progressive disease that affects the lungs. This disease robbed me of my breath, my sleep and proper nutrition caused by constant fatigue and nausea. My condition worsened with time and in March of 2011, I was diagnosed with end-stage liver failure. Doctors at the University of Utah Hospital evaluated me and have determined I’m a good candidate for a liver transplant. As of April 2011 I was placed on the active liver transplant waiting list. Organ transplantation is lifesaving, but very expensive.
