Dear Family and Friends,

As some of you may know, I was diagnosed with chronic cirrhosis of the liver. My condition worsened quickly and my doctors at the University of Virginia have told me that my only chance for survival is a liver transplant. I am currently undergoing medical evaluation and have been placed on the active waiting list. Although this news has come as a shock to me and my family, I am hopeful that a transplant will help me return to my normal life.

I raised both my sons, Brice and Charlie, since I was awarded custody when they were two and four years old. I coached Little League and Babe Ruth baseball for ten years when my boys were younger and I worked as a construction lead man for 30 years until 2006, when two back surgeries left me unable to work. Now, I try to spend as much time with my family as possible, especially with my grandchildren, Cailey and Maddox. I enjoy doing yard work, home repairs, and fish when I am physically able. After my transplant, my goal is to work part time with horses.
