Gerry Needs Your Help
Dear Friends and Family,

Dear Family and Friends:
Thank you so much for your recent “Get Well Soon” cards, flowers and continuous prayers for recovery during my recent hospitalization at Palmetto Health Baptist.
I visited MUSC in February for my yearly checkup for Kidney Transplant candidates. I was placed on the ACTIVE kidney list. I was asked to submit several additional reports to MUSC.
I was hospitalized on February 22 – March 9 due to two blood infections in Palmetto Health Baptist. I informed my MUSC Pre-Kidney Coordinator last week of my hospitalization and, unfortunately, this information places me on the HOLDING list.
I am very positive that the infections will be gone soon (early April). I am feeling stronger everyday.
Last Sunday (March 25) the Denmark Alumnae Chapter of Denmark, SC of Delta Sigma Theta worshiped with us as an annual Chapter Sisterhood activity. I am a member of this sorority and graciously invited them to be with us. I served them and church members lunch in the Fellowship Hall.
In closing, please know that I am so grateful to have my family and friends. Thanks to all of you for all you have done and continue to do for me. Your prayers and support are appreciated more than you can know.

Dear Friends and Family,
I have a list of folks I know, all written in a book
And every year at Christmas time, I go and take a look.
And that is when I realize that these names are a part
Not of the book they’re re-written in, but of my very heart
For each name stands for someone who has touched my life sometime,
And in that meeting they’ve become the “Rhythm of the Rhyme”.
I really feel that I’m composed of each remembered name,
And while you may not be aware of feeling quite the same,
My life is so much better than it was before than it was before you came.
For once that you have known someone the years cannot erase
The memory of pleasant word or of a friendly face
So never think my Christmas cards are just a mere routine
Of names upon a Christmas list, forgotten in between,
For when I send a Christmas card that is addressed to you,
It is because you’re on that list of folks that I’m indebted to.
And whether I have known you for many years or few,
In some way have a part in shaping things I do
So every year Christmas comes, I just realize anew,
The biggest gift that God can give is knowing folks like you!

Gerry, I know your "Mother" began avenues for family and friends to be able to support your campaign to move you closer to receiving the medical attend you require. She was such a loving influence in your life and I know you will miss her presence and pray that this tribute gift will help to continue the efforts she started for you. Prayers, Your Blythewood Friends

I don't know you, but saw your mother's sweet letter on the SC Counseling Association website and wanted to help in some small way. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
