SHARON’S STORY
Sharon Wright is a courageous woman who is in chronic renal failure after battling insulin-dependent diabetes for 12 years. Sharon has been on dialysis three days a week and has been awaiting a kidney transplant for three and a half years. She has struggled through many medical complications and hospitalizations, and at this point, a transplant is her only chance of survival.
Sharon is a single woman with limited funds for support. Her other health issues include rheumatoid arthritis, which has required her to have multiple surgeries on her feet. Through all of this, her determination and fight for life is inspiring. She has a strong faith in her Savior’s loving care for her which has never failed.
Transplantation is life-saving; however, it is also extremely expensive. Even though her insurance will pay for the majority of the procedure, there are still numerous uninsured expenses, including: co-pays and deductibles, doctor visits, travel and relocation at the time of transplant, and the costly immunosuppressant medications Sharon will need to take for the rest of her life.
To help defray these expenses, a fundraising campaign in Sharon’s honor has been established with HelpHOPELive. HelpHOPELive is a nonprofit organization that has been assisting the transplant community for more than 28 years. All donations are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only. To make a tax-deductible contribution:It’s never easy to ask for assistance, but funding Sharon’s transplant is a difficult challenge and she needs your help. Your prayers and financial gifts are greatly appreciated.
With sincere gratitude,
