On March 3, 2007 Kaley was involved in a car accident while a passenger in a vehicle traveling over 100 mph. The car hit a rise in the road and went out of control, hitting a telephone pole and splitting in half. Kaley was thrown from the vehicle and suffered a burst fracture of the fifth cervical vertebrae, leaving her a quadriplegic at the age of fourteen.

Since her injury, Kaley has made tremendous progress. Although her life has changed in many different ways and will never be the same, she continues to have a positive attitude and has many hopes and dreams for her future. She began college this year with the hopes of becoming a rehabilitation psychologist so that she may help others who face life-changing injury such as hers.

Hi Kaley,

Wondering if you also have neurological pain, as I do from my SCI.

If so, I will be glad to trade tips for pain reduction with you as nerve pain is tough to cope with.

Thanks, Zelinda
