Dear Friends and Family,

After roughly 5 1/2 years of PD dialysis I finally received the lifesaving Kidney transplant I needed so much on July 21, 2014. Though for the most part all has gone pretty well, I have had a hiccup or two along the way. As of this writing, I am just returning from the Mayo Clinic for another biopsy to deal with another hiccup. After a 5 days intensive IV treatment we are pretty certain that this hiccup will disappear, however, definite answer probably won’t be known until June or July 2015 at my 1 year anniversary checkup. At that time I will go under another biopsy and additional testing.

This time last year i was just entering the operating room for what was the beginning of a new life with a new kidney! I am so very thankful to God and his mighty hand. My surgery was completed around 6:30 a.m. on 07/21/15! Though there have been bumps on this journey and I still have some hills to climb, I can’t say thank you enough to my donor’s family for their selflessness. I ask you all to pray for that family as i know they are missing their loved one. I want to take this time to thank everyone for their donations, support, fundraising efforts and prayers. Special thank you to my Team Kidney, Crystal Porter. Vernita Hill, Doriscel Feazell, Donna Mack, Melvin Evans, Joy Stepp Gurley, Linda Walls, the family of Vernita Hill, Celestine Steele, Miss. Janie, Jennifer, Godwin Upholstery and so many more. If you aren’t a donor please consider becoming one. One donor could possible save 8 lives! Remember don’t take your organs to heaven cuz heaven knows we need them here! Love to you all and thank you.

Please have a virtual slice of my 1st kidneyversary cake. Kindly provided by my daughter, Crystal Porter!
