I am extremely humbled to reach out to you but I am asking for HELP so that my beloved husband David can get his lung transplant and live to see healthier days.
David Rouleau was born with Cystic Fibrosis. His older brother was also born with the same terminal illness, only he passed away at the age of 13. David has lived with the effects of the disease all of his life and has adapted to its increasing devastation to his body. He is one of the kindest and gentlest men I have ever met, with a sense of humor that is infectious. My life was blessed beyond measure nineteen years ago when he asked me to be his wife. Our ten year old daughter is definitely a daddy’s girl and though she’s been very brave, she is terrified of losing her father.
David’s lungs are worn down to the point that he is in need of a double lung transplant. He is tired all the time and rarely leaves the house as it exhausts him. He has frightening coughing fits, doesn’t sleep well and has developed CF related diabetes. David has also had hemoptysis, what we lay people would refer to as bleeding from his lungs, several times. Praise God the bleeding stopped each of those times but it may not the next time. We look forward to the day that David can belly laugh with his daughter without having a horrible coughing fit, getting out of breath and eventually having a headache. We look forward to going on family outings again, to taking bike rides, to going places we used to go all together.
Lung transplants are life-saving but financially draining as there are many out of pocket expenses. One of the largest of these is the travel and relocation costs associated with treatments in Boston. So we are humbly asking for help. Please help us with the huge task of raising funds to assist with the monumental expenses that go above and beyond what insurance will cover for pre- and post-transplant care.
To help with David’s out-of-pocket expenses a fundraising campaign in his honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a nonprofit organization that has been assisting the transplant community for 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the Northeast Lung Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only. Please consider making a contribution.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, for your support, prayers and generosity.

The Bake Sale was a huge success!! Friends and family were truly amazing in all that they baked. It was overwhelming to see all the love and support shown to our family! God was was so good. The weather was beautiful and there were many kind and generous people that stopped by and bought yummy treats and/or shared kind words of encouragement! Our family is so very thankful and our hearts were deeply touched! Thank you everyone!
Thank you everyone for all your love and support that you have posted! It is truly a blessing to our hearts to read and reread each one and know that we are not alone. Today is David's birthday and we are just so thankful to the Lord that He has given him another year! We are treasuring every moment that we are given for each one is a precious gift! David is feeling extremely tired lately and just plain crumy on and off. We covet all your prayers! Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts!
Today was a rough day for David. He has had little sleep and what sleep he has had hasn't been restful. He is extremely exhausted and run down. Hoping for a good night sleep tonight. Thank you everyone for your prayers.
Amanda, What sweet memories I have of you as an English student of mine at CCS! What a delight to see a picture of you and your lovely family. Amy B. took our family pictures on Sunday which made us aware of your husband's health need. We certainly will be supporting you financially and with prayer. May Our Lord strengthen you, sustain you and be the encouragement you all need. Much love to you. In Christ,

Always praying for you guys!
Stef --- and family!
David was the first (actually there were two) visitor who came to our home from the church. Both my husband and I felt his love and honesty were certainly one of his great gifts from The Lord. He has an awesome family. I pray that he has many, many more birthdays and has the blessing of seeing great grandchildren come into this world as a part of his life. We've just seen our first and eagerly awaiting the second great! It's worth the wait David!

Amanda & David, I will never forget your wedding was the first I ever attended. A true testimony of God's love. And Abigail's birth was the first I ever attended. Another of the Lord's amazing testimonies. May the Lord hold you tightly in the palm of His hands as you trust in Him and have the peace that passes all understanding. We are praying for you.
