My daughter, Tashina needs your help to get a lifesaving kidney/pancreas transplant. Tashina was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when she was 13 years old. In spite of Tashina’s health issues and multiple hospitalizations, she managed to graduate High School early. After graduation Tashina joined the work force and tried to live life as normal as possible. Unfortunately, she developed diabetic gastroparesis and she had to stop working. Tashina returned to school and received a certificate in medical billing and coding, but due to her progressing illness she cannot pursue a career in this field yet. Tashina has some good days but, far more bad days and sometimes, she cannot get out of bed. When her health allows, she enjoys spending time with her family, especially her two nephews. With your help, Tashina can have more of the good days.
Now, Tashina has been diagnosed with end-stage renal disease and has just started dialysis. Tashina’s future depends on a kidney/pancreas transplant. She has been evaluated at California Pacific Medical Center and considered to be an excellent candidate for a transplant. Once Tashina receives her transplant she will be diabetes free! We are looking forward to that day. Although Medicare covers 80% of her transplant, it does not cover all transplant-related expenses such as co-pays, travel, possible relocation at the time of transplant and astronomically expensive immunosuppressant medications she will have to take for the rest of her life.
To help with this financial burden, a fundraising campaign in Tashina’s honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a nonprofit organization that has been assisting the transplant community for 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the Southwest Kidney/Pancreas Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only. Please consider making a contribution to make a difference in Tashina’s life.

Bina, what can I say...a lot! You have been such an inspiration and you are such a beautiful person inside and out. The love that you give and ask for nothing in return back. The Lord will see you through this, he knows what you need and he will see that you get that. Have faith and open your heart to him. There is a verse that has been with me since I came across it in the Bible. Joshua 1:9 - Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, For the LORD your GOD will be with you whenever you may go. You have been through so much, he knows your needs and he knows your tired. He will be with you and your family and he will see you through your pain. He will heal you Bina, let go and let God!! I love you so very much, you and I have had amazing times together. You were just a stranger when you met me and you took my hand and be friended me. We've had laughs, arguments, cries, support and scares.. and with everyone of those, our friendship just got stronger. You, my friend I consider a sister who I love dearly and miss you very much. You will overcome this and live life the way you were meant to. I love you and I love your family. You are all in my heart and my prayers!
Love,Hinojosa!!
I hope that soon this can all be put behind you and that you can finally enjoy your life the way you deserve to and your strength can inspire others to overcome anything they might be going through.
