Dear Family and Friends,

Breathing is something most of us take for granted. Your body becomes paralyzed and you can’t move. I’ve been slowly losing lung capacity since I was diagnosed with Interstitial Lung Disease and Pulmonary Hypertension many years ago. Last year, it became worse, even with oxygen I could not walk around my house without resting — even leaving home to go to doctors’ appointments was very difficult. After breathing tests, x-rays and a CAT scan, I was told by my doctors that my only chance at a healthy life would be to have a double lung transplant. I need the help and prayers of family, friends and the community.

Organ transplantation is life-saving, but expensive. Even with my insurance, I will have uninsured transplant-related expenses such as: co-pays and deductibles, doctor visits, and the costly immunosuppressant medications that she will need to take for the rest of her life. As a result University of Colorado Hospital transplant department has recommended fundraising to assist with these expenses.
