Please help Ryan get his gift-of-life: a kidney transplant!

Dear Family, Friends and Neighbors,

Until April 2012, Ryan led a pretty traditional life centered on work and family. After some routine blood tests, he was diagnosed with end-stage renal disease (ESRD) caused by an immune disorder called IGA nephropathy. In June 2012, Ryan began relying on home dialysis treatments to sustain his life and has been hooked up to a machine for 8-10 hours every night now for almost two years to keep the levels of toxins in his blood at a non-lethal level. His doctors have told him that his only chance at a healthy life is to have a kidney transplant. He is now on the active transplant waiting list at the Medical College of Charleston (MUSC).

Ryan got a transplant today! He received two kidneys from a child donor. We don't know anything about the family, but keep them in your prayers, too. He is out of surgery and in the recovery room now. It will take a few days to see how things are going to end up working. I will keep everyone posted! God is so good! :)

Hello all! It's been a busy year! We welcomed Nathan to our family in August! We will be moving to Kansas this month to be closer to family and Ryan has found a woman who is interested in being a living donor! There's still a lot of transitioning and testing that will need to take place, but we are hopeful that Ryan will be off of dialysis and have healthy kidney function this coming year! Thank you all for your continued support and prayers! Glory to God!
