I am writing to you today on behalf of my brother, Mark Brock. Mark has served in the military and has worked as a maintenance technician. He is engaged in the Deacon Stewardship Program at his church, is a supportive member of his community and good friend to many.
Unfortunately, Mark suffers from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). His health has declined and he is unable to do many things that most of us take for granted. Mark’s doctors at University of Washington Medical Center have told us that his only option is a life-saving lung transplant.
This brings me to the purpose of this letter. Not only is a transplant major surgery, it is also very expensive. Even with insurance, there are many expenses that are not covered and must be paid out of pocket. Some of these are deductibles, co-pays, Mark will need to travel from Portland to Seattle and relocate for at least 3 months at the time of the transplant, and he will be on a life-time of anti-rejection medications. This is where your help is desperately needed.
To help ease this financial burden, a fundraising campaign in Mark’s honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a nonprofit organization that has been assisting the transplant community for 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the Northwest Lung Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only. Please consider making a contribution today.Mark is looking forward to the future when he can return to work, become an active member of the community and church again and do many of the things he enjoys.
On behalf of Mark, myself and our family, thank you for your kindness, generosity, support and prayers.
Linda Brock

Mark Brock is now in recovery from his double lung transplant that was perform on August 31, 2015 early AM. He is strong and progressing. He is currently in Seattle Washington at the UWMC. We still need your prayers and support as he will be on
anti-rejection medications for awhile and require housing away from home as well as a care provider.
Greetings everyone, I think this website is a very good thing to have.

Hi all!, My name is Linda Brock sister of Mark's and I just want to thank all of you in advance for your thoughts, prayers and mostly your financial contribution to his care. Mark is such a proud person who wouldn't ask for help, but he knows that he cannot do this alone. Any help that you can give us is very much appreciated. Thanks and God Bless you!
