On Saturday, October 26th, while riding North on 9W on a beautiful fall morning, Mark crashed badly when his wheel got tangled with another rider’s. Mark went down hard and landed on his head (he was wearing a helmet) with most of the impact to the right side of his face. Injuries included damage to his spinal cord, a concussion, fractured cheek bone, and a fractured eye socket. Mark lost use of his limbs immediately after this accident.

As a consultant, Mark only gets paid when he works. We do not know when he will be able to return to work. Mark does not have disability insurance, although luckily he does have health insurance. We want to help Mark make it through these tough times by reducing his family’s stress over financial hurdles such as rent, medical co-pays, continued care and out-patient therapy, transportation and modifications to his apartment that will be needed when he goes home.
