Please Help Sonya Get Her Kidney Transplant

Many of you already know that my mother, Essie M. Hutcherson died of End Stage Renal Disease; my sister, Sonya Montgomery, is battling the same disease. She has been on dialysis three days a week, three hours a day since January 2001. Dialysis has kept her alive but Sonya’s only shot at a healthy and more productive life is to get a kidney transplant as soon as possible.

Sonya has completed medical evaluation at Tampa General Hospital and has been told that she is a candidate for a kidney transplant. However, due to the extraordinary expense of the transplant, as well as her inability to work for many years, funding this life-saving operation is a monumental task. Despite having Medicare, many of her medical needs will not be covered and must be paid out-of-pocket. Sonya will need over $800 a month for medication that she will have to take for the rest of her life, other medical bills and expenses, and at least $7200 before the doctors can start the transplant.
