Hello, my name is Deborah Diaz; I have a debilitating disease called Lupus. This fight has dramatically changed my life forever. It is an autoimmune disease that destroys healthy tissue, and in my case especially internal organs Sadly, there is currently no cure… In April 2007, my kidneys failed, and I began dialysis treatments to remove toxins, waste, and extra fluid from my body. It was a very steep and long uphill battle as this was my option to stay alive until a kidney transplant. During this arduous journey I endured countless surgeries, medical procedures, hospitalizations and long term medical complications.
The great news is that earlier this year after all the adversity I finally received my kidney transplant!! The kidney started working immediately and my recovery process has been better than I could have ever imagined. I no longer have to be on dialysis. As well, I feel this incredible gift has been the biggest blessing of my life. I’m eternally grateful for this precious, precious freedom and looking forward to living life to the fullest with my healthy organ.
Even with insurance, l unfortunately have uninsured post transplant-related expenses such as: co-pays and deductibles, out of town doctor visits and procedures, and the costly immunosuppressant medications that I must take for the rest of my life. Raising approximately $50,000 is a task I cannot manage alone. I sincerely need your assistance.
To help with this financial burden, a fundraising campaign in my honor has been established with Help Hope Live, a nonprofit organization that has been assisting the transplant community for 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law, are held by Help Hope Live in the Great Lakes Kidney Transplant Fund and are administered by Help Hope Live for transplant-related expenses only. Please consider making a contribution today by clicking the DONATE NOW button.
If you feel comfortable passing my story along to some of your friends who might be willing to make a donation too, please feel free to do so. I have fought this disease for many years and I will not stop.
Any and all donations will be greatly appreciated!
Donations are 100% tax deductible.
There will be no credit card fee for online donations between midnight on Tuesday, November 30 and 3 AM Eastern time on Wednesday, December 1.
My sincere thanks and gratitude

KIDNEY TRANSPLANT 2021
After 14 years of battling Lupus, kidney failure, and dialysis, I’m happy to announce that earlier this year I received my kidney transplant.
My new kidney is thriving and I feel amazing! My life has completely changed. Praise God for all of his miracles and for keeping me safe all this time.
Luke 1:37 "For with God nothing shall be impossible.”
The miracles I’ve seen I’ll never forget.
Having an invisible illness isn't something I ever thought would happen. Staying positive while being in the hospital is tough. Having constant surgeries and always being in pain is even worse. Looking forward to feeling better.
