Dear Friends and Family,

Myra is a loving wife, a devoted mother of our two adult children, an elementary special education teacher, helps me in the Sunday school class at church, and a good friend to many. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, remaining positive, and always smiling while bringing light to those around her. She looks forward to a future full of energy, doing many things she cannot do now.

Even with insurance, many medical expenses related to the transplant are not covered and must be paid out of pocket. Some of these are co-pays, deductibles, our travel to and from the hospital, and Myra will be on a lifetime of expensive anti-rejection medications. We also hope to find a living donor who matches Myra and will need to cover those expenses. This puts us up against a challenge we cannot meet alone, and we need your help.

To ease this financial burden, a fundraising campaign in Myra’s honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a nonprofit organization that has assisted the transplant community for 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible, held by HelpHOPELive in the South-Atlantic Kidney Transplant Fund, and administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only.
