Two years ago Robert was diagnosed with stage 4 cirrhosis of the liver. After multiple doctor visits and no improvement to his liver, Robert did not know where to turn. To make matters worse, on February 26 Robert was diagnosed with hepatocellular carcinoma, a form of liver cancer caused from his years of living with cirrhosis.
The fighter in Robert has emerged for his battle against cancer; he has no plans of backing down. On a good note his amazing team of doctors at the University Transplant Center – San Antonio caught the cancerous tumors early in their development. Once Robert finishes his chemoembolization treatments he will await his lifesaving liver transplant so he can go back to spending time with his loving family.
Robert has been placed on the transplant waiting list, but he and his family now face the challenge of paying the costly medical fees of the pre- and post-transplant treatment. Unfortunately, due to the circumstances, Robert has been out of work since the beginning of February 2014. Without any source of income, our family has jumped in and is helping as much as possible but his financial needs far exceed what the family is able to contribute. Our family is asking you to consider a financial gift to help our father in this fight.
In order to ease the financial burden, a fundraising campaign in Robert’s honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a non-profit organization that had been assisting the transplant community for over 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the South-Central Liver Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only. With sincere gratitude,
