I am writing to you on behalf of Ronald (Tuke) Robinson. Ron recently suffered a life-changing spinal cord injury following a devastating car accident on an icy road. With no use of his legs and limited use of his arms, Ron has spent the last several months in medical and rehabilitation facilities.
Through much faith and determination, Ron has been able to make significant progress by attending a specialized rehabilitation program while in a transitional care facility. He is preparing to move into a wheelchair accessible home but since there are a limited number of wheelchair accessible units, the wait can be quite long; modifications to a regular home will be necessary. Ron is also planning to start an intensive therapy program that will strengthen his body and help him regain some additional function in his arms and legs. His physical therapists have recommended home health care and outpatient rehab to help him increase his strength and flexibility.
In addition to the many physical struggles that he faces, he also will be facing many financial obligations. Ron is facing extraordinary out of pocket expenses including medical and rehabilitation expenses, and costs for assistive devices and home modifications. To help offset such expenses, a fundraising campaign in Ronald’s honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a nonprofit organization that has been assisting the transplant community for 30 years. In 2000, they expanded their mission to include those who have sustained a catastrophic injury. All contributions are tax-deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the South-Central Spinal Cord Injury Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for injury-related expenses only. If you would like to make a contribution:
Ron remains hopeful that he will be able to return to a productive life in the community through your financial assistance and your prayers. Please join the effort to help Ron whether it is by making a donation, or just by reposting this anywhere you can. Also, look for fundraising events on his HelpHOPELive webpage.
Thank you.
