Dear Family and Friends,
Clayton Wetrick was a resident of Seattle until 1993, when he moved to North Carolina. He is a wonderful Christian man, who has been an amazing friend to many. Always a hard worker, he gives is best, whether at work, church, or in the community. Most people would use the words kind and generous to describe Clayton. He truly exemplifies Christ’s command to “Love one another.”
Now he needs your help! Several years ago Clayton was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver (contracted from a blood transfusion when he was a child). Since then he has battled all sorts of health issues such as encephalopathy (a build-up of toxins in the body that causes confusion and poor motor control), and ascites (fluid build-up in his abdomen and lungs). Clayton has had to leave his job and is living on disability alone. Cirrhosis of the liver is a degenerative disease and only gets worse. Clayton’s only chance for a cure is a liver transplant. The cost for this type of major surgery is overwhelming. He cannot possibly do this without your help!
In order to ease the financial burden, a fundraising campaign has been established in Clayton’s honor. HelpHOPELive is a non-profit organization that has been assisting the transplant community for 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible and are held in the South-Atlantic Liver Transplant Fund and administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only. When considering your donation, please think of Clayton’s generosity to others.
Your support is crucial! A fundraising committee has been formed and we are planning several exciting and fun events. Any ideas or help you can give is welcome! For those of you who live out of town and would like to plan an event for Clayton, please contact any of the committee members listed below.
Thank you so very much for your gifts and prayers.
