Born into extreme poverty in El Salvador, Yanci Karina came to this country five years ago. She is a wonderful 24 year old woman and mother of a beautiful five year old daughter. During her pregnancy, Yanci was diagnosed with severe chronic kidney failure. Although her condition was considered life threatening, Yanci was determined to continue her pregnancy. Over the last four years, Yanci has been on dialysis three times a week. She is experiencing complications related to the dialysis, and the need for a kidney transplant has become urgent.
Despite all of the challenges Yanci has faced over the years she has remained positive, concentrating all of her efforts towards raising her daughter.
While Yanci has insurance to help with the transplant expenses, she will have many post-transplant expenses, not the least of which is the costly immunosuppressant medications that she will have to take for the rest of her life.
To help with this financial burden, a fundraising campaign in Yanci’s honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a nonprofit organization that has been assisting the transplant community for 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the Mid-Atlantic Kidney Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only. Please consider making a donation so that Yanci can continue the journey towards transplant and a healthy life.
Join us in our efforts to help Yanci whether it is by making a donation, or just by reposting this anywhere you can. Also, look for fundraising events on her HelpHOPELive webpage.
God Bless and thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
