We are reaching out to you because Dominique needs a kidney transplant and needs your support to get it.
As many of you know, Dominique is a compassionate young woman, who is always taking care of others even though she struggles daily with chronic kidney disease. She has been fortunate in avoiding dialysis so far but her kidney function is still deteriorating and she is now facing end stage renal disease. Her best chance at a long and healthy life is to receive a kidney transplant.
Dominique is determined to continue to live her life to the fullest while waiting for a transplant. Her determination and fight for normalcy in her life are incredibly admirable and encouraging. She continues to work as a Licensed Vocational Nurse while also pursuing her Registered Nursing license. She is also an amazing mother to two year old Alex and devoted wife to Jose.
Dominique is currently on the kidney transplant list at Baylor Scott and White Hospital in Temple, TX the very same hospital where she is employed. Even though her insurance will cover most of the procedure, we anticipate substantial out-of-pocket costs such as co-payments for multiple doctors appointments, lifelong immunosuppressant medications, travel to and from the hospital, and relocation at the time of transplant.
To help offset her uninsured costs, a fundraising campaign in Dominique’s honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a nonprofit organization that has been assisting the transplant community for 30 years. All contributions are tax-deductible, are held in the South-Central Kidney Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only. Please consider a contribution.
It’s never easy to ask for assistance, but funding Dominique’s transplant is a difficult challenge and we need your help. Your financial gifts and prayers will be greatly appreciated.
With sincere gratitude,
Daniel O’Leary Jose Cervantes

Unfortunately due to unforseen circumstances, the transplant that was scheduled for January 14th is no longer a possibility. Jose and I have been placed back on the Alliance for Paired Donation list to wait for another match :(
We have a match and we have a date! Transplant is scheduled for January 14th, 2015.
KIDNEY UPDATE, good news! Jose and I have been listed together on the The Alliance for Paired Donation list and we may have a possible match. We are waiting on some additional testing to come back before we know for sure. Please cross your fingers for us :)
The online T-SHIRT FUNDRAISER through booster.com that was held in July and completed in August was a complete SUCCESS thanks to all of my friends and family! A total of $890.00 was was raised between t-shirt sales and additional donations. Everyone should have received their shirts by now and I would like to invite you all to take a picture of yourself wearing your shirt and send it to me so I can post it here on my page so that I can show off all of my supporters!
**The funds raised are not showing this page yet but they should be soon!
So, like I mentioned before we are in the process of brainstorming for fundraising ideas and these are some that we are considering:
-Penny Drive
-Bowling Tournament
-Chicken and Beer Dance
-50/50 Raffle
-Bake Sale
-Texas Hold'em Poker Tournament
-Restaurant Percentage of Sales Event
-T-shirts
If anyone has any ideas or would like to help organize a fundraiser please contact me!
