Dear Family and Friends,

I am writing to you on behalf of my mother, Joan Morine. As you probably know, my mom led a very active life prior to her tragic accident last January. She volunteered at the North Valley Hospital gift shop, collected magazines for troops overseas, transported her granddaughter, Anna, to numerous after-school activities and ran her own business from home, Montana Bookseller. Now a quadriplegic with no use of her legs and limited use of her arms, Joan has spent the last three months in medical and rehab facilities.

Recently, Joan was moved to an acute care hospital to assist with ongoing respiratory issues and to receive continued occupational and physical therapy to strengthen her arms and legs. It is my Mom’s hope, as well as our family’s, that she will eventually be able to return home to Montana. In order to accomplish this, Joan will need a handicapped accessible vehicle to transport her to and from medical and therapy appointments. Also, her home will have to be remodeled to accommodate a roll in shower and a hospital bed. She will also need continued in-home nursing care.

Thanks to the continuous, generous support of all of our family and friends, my mom will get to keep her private room with a beautiful view, at Brendan House. This means so much to my mom. Wishing all of you a very Merry Christmas.

Dear Friends and Family,

I want you all to know how much my Mom, my family and I appreciate all of the generous donations you have given. These funds will help pay for ongoing medical expenses that are not covered by insurance including therapy to help her condition improve. Your support and love over the past year has been greatly appreciated.

Warmly,

Janae Christensen

Hi, Joan. I'm still doing a little bit for North Valley Hospital volunteers. Denise moved to K R M C so miss her smiling face. Seems a little different with the change but that's the way it goes. Take care, Pat C :)

Hoping that the fund raiser today is a huge success and that you are able to move back home in the near future. As always, my thoughts and prayers are with you.

Love, Margaret
