My name is Tony Wortham. I have been battling End Stage Renal Disease and am currently on dialysis. I was told that I would need a kidney transplant and not long ago, I was put on the kidney transplant list at University of North Carolina Kidney Transplant Center. A kidney transplant is my only option for a cure.

Transplantation is very expensive, and even with insurance there are many out-of-pocket medical expenses including travel to and from the transplant center and the costly immunosuppressant medications that I will have to take for the rest of my life. The transplant team at the hospital requires that their patients fundraise to help pay for expenses, before and after transplant, that insurance won’t cover.
