Kenneth Dunbar is a 54 year old man who is very ill. Since 2009, he has been struggling with congestive heart failure, had six strokes and needed a pacemaker defibrillator. In 2013, Kenneth became ill with end state renal disease; a kidney transplant is his only hope for survival. Kenneth needs our help because the cost of a kidney transplant is overwhelming.
One of the nicest people you’d ever hope to meet, Kenneth grew up in Gadsden, South Carolina and graduated from Lower Richland High School. A hard worker, he retired from the City of Columbia, South Carolina after 14 years and the University of South Carolina after 15 years of service. He is a husband to Trina Dunbar, a father of four sons, and grandfather of seven. Together, Kenneth’s family is committed to seeing him through this transplant.
Transplants are life-saving but financially draining. Even with insurance, Kenneth is facing out-of-pocket expenses for his post-transplant medications of up to $5,000 a month and co-pays, lab fees, and more.
To help with the financial burden of Kenneth’s uninsured expenses, a fundraising campaign in his honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the South-Atlantic Kidney Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only. Please, consider making a contribution today.
Thank you for your prayers, support and generosity. Keep an eye on Kenneth’s HelpHOPELive webpage because we will be posting updates and will be planning some fundraising events soon.
Gratefully,
Delores Flemming, 803-353-2961 or 803-397-4579
God will see you through this too. Keep the faith.
