On May 4, 2014, at the age of 18, and as a vibrant, active and courageous teenager, Ruben decided to dive into a pool. This split decision resulted in a C6, C7 spinal cord injury. Ruben is a quadriplegic now. In an instant, his entire path in life was altered.

As many people know, Ruben was a very active and energetic young man. He was a baseball athlete that loved the outdoors, nature, water and snow sports. If you know Ruben then you know he is not ready to give up on his dreams, even if he has to take a different path to get there. Ruben still has many uninsured injury-related expenses such as: recovery-based therapies, medical expenses and medical equipment.

Ruben completed his Stem Cell study in April 2016. The Stem Cell study has closed due to its lack of progress from test subjects.

Although he has not gained functionality from the study, he is still working hard to gain as much movement back as he can. We are still in need of donations. Please feel free to review Ruben’s hard work on the YouTube video I have attached.
