I am writing to you on behalf of my father, Ronnie Rodgers. Since suffering a heart attack in the summer of 2003, Dad has had serious recurring heart problems, in addition to being diagnosed with congestive heart failure later that same year. Since that time, he has undergone multiple treatment options with the latest being an LVAD (left ventricular artificial device) placement in May 2013. Unfortunately, the LVAD placement is limited in its ability to help Ronnie’s heart condition. His heart has weakened to the point where his doctors have told him he is in need of a heart transplant. Ronnie’s health issues have caused him to stop working and have also impacted his ability to do the activities that he normally loves!

Although Ronnie has insurance, there are many uninsured transplant-related expenses associated with a transplant such as: co-pays and deductibles, multiple follow-up appointments that will include expensive lab work and the costly post-transplant anti-rejection medications that Ronnie will need to take for the rest of his life. Funding this procedure will be a monumental task and support of friends and family is essential and critical!
