Dear Friends and Family,
Many of you know my loving wife and best friend for 30 years, Thelma Burnell. Together we served 13 yrs. in the military have four children and God has blessed us with 15 grandkids. Before her illness Thelma worked nearly 40 years in the field of human/community services, working for organizations such as: Arc, Palm Beach Habilitation Center, America Habilitation and Seagull Industrial Center.
In 2006, Thelma was diagnosed with Severe Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). Presently she is in the end-stage of this disease and has very limited lung capacity in her right lung/slowly losing capacity in the left one. Thelma’s doctors at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville have told us that her only option is a life-saving lung transplant.
Not only is a transplant major surgery it is also extremely expensive. Even with insurance there are many expenses not covered and must be paid out of pocket. Some of these are co-pays, deductibles, travel to and from the transplant center; relocation at the time of transplant and Thelma will be on a life-time of anti-rejection medications. This is where your help is desperately needed.
A fundraising campaign in Thelma’s honor has been established with HelpHopeLive, a nonprofit organization that has been assisting the transplant community for 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible, are held by HelpHopeLive in the Southeast Lung Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHopeLive for transplant-related expenses only. Please consider making a contribution:For more information, please contact HelpHOPELive at 800.642.8399.
On behalf of Thelma, myself and our family, we thank you for your kindness, generosity and prayers. “Together we can do what we can never do alone.”
God bless,
Mack Brown
