Allan Zevitkowski is in dire need of a kidney transplant and needs your support to make it happen. Allan is a loving devoted husband of many years to his lovely wife Reona and his dog Maxie who desperately need Allan to stay alive! He is fighting every day to live, but transplants, while life-saving are very costly.
Allan was diagnosed with glomerulonephritis and has been receiving dialysis three days a week for three years. While dialysis is keeping him alive, it is debilitating, impacting his ability to be functional and to be able to continue to work. With a transplant, Allan is hoping to return to a normal life where he can again enjoy small things and wake up happy with his family at his side.
Allan is on the transplant list and is waiting to receive a phone call to receive his gift of life. Even with insurance, Allan will have many uninsured transplant related expenses including co-pays, travel to and from doctor’s visits and the transplant center, and the costly immunosuppressant medications that he will have to take for the rest of his life. The transplant team at the Cleveland Clinic advises their patients to fundraise to help with the extraordinary expense.
To help with the financial burden of Allan’s uninsured expenses, a fundraising campaign in his honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the Southeast Kidney Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only. With gratitude,
The Zevitkowski Family,

Thankfully, the biopsy of Allan's new kidney was good!
After progressing well for a few weeks, Allan's kidney function tests weren't as expected and he went back in the hospital on Monday. Allan is going to have a biopsy on his new kidney to rule out rejection. Please keep us in your thoughts.
Allan is progressing at Cleveland Clinic and is out of the ICU. We are both so grateful and blessed at Al's chance at a new life. He is eating walking and drinking fluids for the first time in 3 years Thank you God!
Allan had a kidney transplant Oct. 31. 2013 and is in the ICU right now.
Keep Praying that Al gets that kidney!
God Bless Cleveland Clinic for listing Allan in their new kidney transplant program!
We are happy to share that Allan has been accepted in the Cleveland Clinic's transplant program!
May each day bring you renewed strength and brighter times...
Lisa
