This fundraising campaign has been set up on behalf of my dad, Ronnie Lee. As far as I can remember my father has been the rock of our family. He has always worked hard to provide for my mother, my two brothers and myself. My father is a proud veteran, having served in the US Army from 1975-1977. He has two wonderful grandchildren who love their Pawpaw very much. Jordan is four years old and my dad calls him his best friend. Jackson is seven months old and my dad always brings a big smile to his face.
My dad has been diagnosed with congestive heart failure. He had a defibrillator pacemaker implanted in 2011. Due to his recent worsening condition, his cardiologist determined that he requires a heart transplant, and his name was placed on the transplant list on June 19, 2014.
My dad had to be placed on disability from his job due to his condition. Although he has insurance there are many uninsured expenses associated with transplantation such as co-pays, doctor’s visits and costly transplant medications that have to be taken for the remainder of his life. Fundraising is essential to the overall success of my dad’s outcome.
To help with the financial burden of my dad’s uninsured expenses, a fundraising campaign in his honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the South-Atlantic Heart Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only. Please consider a contribution.
