Dear Friends, Family and Community,
Many of you know my loving husband, Alfred Anderson. Some of you know that Alfred has cirrhosis of the liver and has recently been diagnosed with liver cancer. His doctors at Methodist Hospital in Houston have told us that he is in need of a life-saving liver transplant.
Alfred is a wonderful step-father to Buster and Libra and fun PopPop of our three grandchildren. He is a longtime resident of Houston, owned a mortgage company, and was in Iraq working for Kelloge, Brown and Root (KBR) supporting our troops. He likes sports, the outdoors and mostly spending time with our grandkids. Unfortunately, due to his poor health he is no longer able to do many things he has always enjoyed.
This brings me to the purpose of this letter. A transplant is life-saving and also very expensive. Even with insurance there are many expenses that must be covered out of pocket. Some of these are co-pays, deductibles and Alfred will be on a life-time of anti-rejection medications. This is where your help is desperately needed.
A fundraising campaign in Alfred’s honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a nonprofit organization that has been assisting the transplant community for more than 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the South-Central Liver Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only. Please consider making a contribution.
On behalf of our Alfred and our family, thank you for your kindness, generosity, support and prayers.
