Family and friends of Roderick Baptiste are raising money to pay for uninsured medical & travel expenses associated with heart and kidney transplantation at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida.
Roderick was diagnosed with congestive heart failure in May 2014. He is now in urgent need for a life-saving heart and kidney transplant.
Roderick “Rod” is a native of Natchitoches, LA, he has a passion for playing the saxophone and was a member of the world famous Grambling State University Band where he graduated in 1976. Rod is the Pastor of Mt Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Lumpkin, Georgia where he loves to preach and teach the word of God.
Rod is now inpatient at Jacksonville, Florida where he will remain until he receives a donor for a heart and a kidney transplant. To help alleviate the financial burden of transplantation, a fundraising campaign in Rod’s honor has been established with Help Hope Live, a nonprofit organization that has been assisting the transplant community for over 35 years.
After surgery Rod will be required to remain in Jacksonville for extension rehabilitation therapy and for numerous doctors visits for about three (3) months. His wife, Ronita will be by his side. Your contributions will be used for medical related expenses only, which includes travel and lodging.
Roderick has chosen to fundraise with Help Hope Live in part because Help Hope Live assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility to the full extent allowed by law for donors. Donors can be sure that funds donated will be used only to pay or reimburse medically-related expenses. To make a tax-deductible donation to this fundraising campaign, click on the Give button.

On behalf of Rod and his family, we Thank You for your kindness, generosity and Prayers!
I appreciate all of the prayers and support through the years of heart and kidney failure. As of Nov 22, 2020 I'll be 9 months post transplant for heart and kidney transplant. I really appreciate the entire medical community for their knowledge and expertise. As of Nov 12th I've been recovering very well.
On January 27, 2020, I had a scheduled appointment at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida and the week prior I was not feeling well at all. Upon my arrival to the hospital I was told to go to ER where they admitted me for heart failure. I stayed in the hospital until a heart and kidney was found. I had my transplant on February 22nd and I praise God that it was successful. My wife and I remained in Jacksonville for several months for post treatment. I am now home and doing well, God is Awesome!
01/27/2020 Admitted to Mayo Clinic Transplant floor, told that I am now too sick to go home and will need to remain inpatient until transplanted.
Thanks for all the prayers and certainly monetary donations towards heart and kidney transplantation. 2015 was a stable year for me and I thank God everyday for life. Happy New Year and I'm looking forward to a even stronger 2016.

Today I’ll like to say Thank You! 2015 has been a Great year for me compared to 2014. To God Be the Glory. I’ve been stable and feeling better. However, I’m listed for Heart/Kidney Transplantation in the future but, in the meantime I’m living Day by Day and I’m Blessed to make my 61st Birthday. May the Lord Bless You and your Family this Christmas Season! “A Drive To Survive”
Thanks to all my friends and family that are continuing to keep me lifted up in their prayers. I had a good report from Mayo Clinic last week. I’m still on the list for heart and kidney transplantation in the future. God is really up to something! My desire to be a walking, talking preaching testimony so all can see God’s miraculous works through me.
I’m still on track for heart kidney transplant in the future. I’m up and moving about and just a year ago it was difficult to do a simple task. The Lord has been so good to me and I just want to be a living, walking, talking testimony for Him. Thank you for your prayers and concern. Let’s continue to pray one for one another.

We are heading to Mayo Clinic tomorrow to begin our journey. Thank you for your prayers, donations and concern. Rod
I have known Roderick Baptiste for some time and am grateful to God that He allow our paths to cross. He and his lovely wife Ronita are near and dear friends and I'm praying that God heals him through the work done through Help Hope Live. I was anxious to see him in person but understand the COVID-19 situation so I am donating on Roderick's behalf. I had a few from the Oakie Hill Church who expressed giving also. Take it slow my friend as the miracle has already taken place with your new heart and kidney. Much love and God bless!
