Christmas is around the corner, which means everyone is busy with family and friends and making wonderful memories! My son is so close to finding a kidney donor, which an absolute Christmas Miracle but it also means a lot of recovery time headed his and the donor's way, we are definitely grateful for any last minute donations to help him get through this surgery and recovery.
I probably won't be posting again until after Christmas so from my son and I we wish each and everyone of our family and friends a very Merry Christmas!
Please don't forget if you donate before Dec. 31 you can enjoy tax savings in 2014!

This has been a long 3 year journey! We have been praying for a Christmas Miracle, which God has given us a wonderful group of such amazing caring family and friends that are donating to my son's fundraiser then all the sudden God lead me to a group of people that are complete strangers that are willing to get tested to see if we can find a kidney donor for my wonderful precious son for a Christmas Miracle! Wow such amazing people surrounding my son!

Armed with our positive attitude and inherent stubborn nature, We keep our minds focused and our life moving forward. We stop to rest, pout and even cry sometimes, but always, We get back up. Life is giving my son this challenge and we will plow through it, out of breath with our heart's racing if we have to.

Yes this is how I spend my Saturday nights but I'm a mother on a mission to save her sons life by raising money to assist with his pre & post kidney transplant out of pocket expenses.
Financial burden is just another challenge transplant recipients have to face.
Anti-rejection medications are very costly, ranging from $2,000 to $4,000 a month.
Planning ahead can help to avoid facing an unexpected large pharmacy bill immediately after the surgery; therefore any contribution to his fundraiser is greatly appreciated.

We are extremely hopeful that a transplant will be within a couple of months; therefore I will be promoting my son's fundraising page quite often in order to get assistance with his out of pocket expenses!
Transplants are not cheap even with insurance! The out of pocket expenses for just his anti-rejection medication can be a devastating but without the medication the transplant will fail!
We have joined forces with HelpHopeLive which is a non-profit organization set up for transplant and catastrophic injured patients! Your contributions are tax deductible, 2014 is quickly coming to an end contributing to his fundraiser would be a wonderful tax deduction!
This has been a journey that has completely changed our lives but through the prayers and love from family and friends my son has stayed strong even through the darkest days! We both thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being there for us!

The causes of IgA nephropathy are not well understood. The disease seems to cluster in certain families and in certain areas of the world. It rarely occurs in people of African heritage. These facts suggest that genetic influences may play a role in the development of the disease.

IGA NEPHROPATHY
In many parts of the world, IgA nephropathy is the most common form of glomerulonephritis--a disease that damages the tiny filtering units of the kidney, called glomeruli. The damage caused by IgA nephropathy results from abnormal deposits of a protein called "IgA" in the glomeruli.
One of the kidney's most important jobs is to filter toxic waste products from the blood, and the glomeruli play a key role in this process. As more glomeruli are damaged by the IgA protein, the kidney progressively loses its ability to clear wastes from the body. In some patients with IgA nephropathy, this loss of kidney function progresses to chronic kidney failure, which requires dialysis treatment or a kidney transplant.
IgA Nephropathy is sometimes called "Berger's Disease," because a French physician named Berger was one of the first to describe the disease.
