Will Johnston is in need of a lifesaving kidney transplant. This is very expensive and we need the help of family, friends, and the community.
Will was born with a flat bladder and given only a 5% chance to live. Thanks to his mother never giving up on him, he has made it to 41 so far. He is a very outgoing, funny guy but this illness has really taken a toll on him physically and emotionally. It is so bad at this point that he can no longer work and is tired all the time. He has to rely on dialysis every night just to stay alive.
Will was born in Hickory, NC and graduated from Fred T. Foard High School. He worked in factories most of his life. In 2010, Will and I met and are now engaged. I am his “caregiver†and love him dearly. Together we are committed to seeing Will through his transplant.
Transplants are lifesaving but financially draining. Even with insurance, Will is facing very high expenses including post-transplant medications of up to $1,200 a month, co-pays, lab fees and more.
Will has chosen to fundraise with HelpHOPELive in part because HelpHOPELive assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility for donors. Donors can be sure that funds donated will be used only to pay or reimburse medically-related expenses. To make a tax-deductible donation to this fundraising campaign, click on the Donate Now button.
