In 2009, while at a routine check up, her doctors discovered her kidneys were functioning at around fifty percent. She continued routine monitoring and a kidney friendly diet while maintaining a fairly normal life for several years. She managed to maintain family duties while also working as the Victim Witness Coordinator for the State.
In 2012 the kidney function had decreased a considerable amount and she was no longer able to work. She has since been placed on peritoneal dialysis and is currently working toward a transplant. She hopes to be able to one day return to work and share many more moments with her children. With your help that can be a reality.

Thank you for your support!
Since my kidney transplant on july 16th I have been healing up and gaining energy by the day. Words could never fully express my gratitude for the donor, the surgeons and staff at UT hospital, and the love and support that friends/family and even a few strangers have shown me. May God bless each and every person who has shown me kindness and grace. I am now trying to adjust my sails and prepare myself for a new voyage. I am trying my very best to make the most of this new lease on life and enjoy as much time as possible with my kiddos.
On july 16th I was tranplanted at UT medical in Knoxville TN. I could not have ask for better care from a medical facility! They continue to be fantastic and answer all my question thoroughly. The support and love I have received makes my heart so full! I appreciate everyones help and patience as I navigate this process. My whole life has changed several times throughout this journey. Frequent trips to knoxville for labs and new meds can make for stressful days but somehow the love and support carry me through beautifully! Words will never capture the essence of jow truly grateful I am. The donations, prayers, kind words, and general support life me up daily. I love everyone that has shown me grace in my darker moments and I will never forget the compassion and support you have shown. I will continue to update you on my progress and I will always remember those folks that loved me when I was not very lovable. You are angels walking this earth disguised as humans! Thank you to everyone who has carried me this far.
I have been doing a bit better since the hospital scare and the hemo. I am doing peritoneal and seem to have things back under control. My car recently quit so I have been stuck at home so focusing on my health has been a bit easier..but getting things done is almost impossible. I guess that is life for most folks not just those of us battling illness. I always say "life has a way of moving things into perspective and shining light on what must be addressed" ;)
As January comes to a close I get closer to one more birthday...one more year that I was able to push through. 2016 was a rough year for me..I spent most of the year in the hospital. I pray 2017 will be a good year and I pray my body will continue to tolerate peritoneal dialysis. I appreciate every prayer and thought that has been directed toward me and my children as we push through this test placed before us. God bless each and every person that has show us kindness. I will continue to press on for my children and pray that God blesses my little family with a miracle. Thank you to all who have prayed and stayed..we love you.
After a week long stay in the hospital, I am on the mend. A tricathe had to be placed in my groin and they did some rounds of hemo. My creatinine had reached a dangerous level causing inflammation in my heart. Once my levels were lower and my condition was stable they placed a Cathe in my chest and fistula in my arm. I am currently doing hemodialysis and trying to build my system back up while keeping my creatinine lowered. All the support and prayers mean so much to me. I am sore and still pretty tired, but I am still in it to win it. My children have been wonderful through all of this. I am blessed to have great support. I appreciate any and all help that is given. This has made for unexpected expenses, so every little bit counts. Thanks to all! Love and light to each and everyone who contributes and prays.
