Dear friends and family,

Four year ago I was diagnosed with end-stage kidney disease, which means my kidneys stopped functioning and normal function will never return. There are two ways to treat this disease; dialysis or kidney transplant. I have been getting dialysis treatments three times a week for the last four years. Now, a kidney transplant is the only option in order for me to have a long, healthy life, and go back to work and be productive to society.

My pastor from my home country of El Salvador has volunteered to become my kidney donor and will need to travel to North Carolina. However, financing the transplant is a monumental task and a challenge that I cannot meet alone. Even with insurance, there are many uninsured transplant related expenses including living donor expenses, travel to and from the transplant center, and the costly immunosuppressant medications that I will have to take for the rest of my life.
