Some of you know my son, Ira Kavanaugh. Ira was diagnosed with end stage renal failure and has been on dialysis for the last eight years. His doctors at the North Austin Medical Center have told us that he is in need of a life-saving kidney transplant.
Ira is 46 years old, a dedicated son, the wonderful father of 3 daughters, and good friend to many. He has always worked two or three jobs at a time to take care of his family. Unfortunately, Ira is no longer able to work due to his poor health. He is looking forward to going back to work and becoming active in the community again. Even in difficult times, he is always upbeat smiling and ready to laugh.
A transplant is life saving and also very expensive. Even with insurance there are many expenses that are not covered and must be paid out of pocket. Some of these are co-pays, deductibles, lab fees, a caregiver, transportation to the hospital and Ira will be on a life-time of anti-rejection medications. This is where your help is desperately needed.
A fundraising campaign in Ira’s honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the South-Central Kidney Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only. Please consider a contribution and click the Donate Now button.
On behalf of Ira, his daughters, myself and our families, thank you for your kindness, generosity, support and prayers.
