Many of you know my loving husband, Alonzo Cannon. Two years ago, at the age of 38, Alonzo was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. He had to make major changes in his life, was forced to stop working and is no longer able to do many of the things he loved to do. He was a truck driver for 12 years and was devastated when he found out, that his career that he loved so much had come to an abrupt end.
This past May, Alonzo’s doctors at the Medical University of South Carolina, told us that his heart is barely working, and that he would need a life-saving heart transplant.
Not only is a transplant major surgery, it is also very expensive. Even with insurance there will be many expenses that must be paid out of pocket. Some of these are deductibles, co-pays, travel to and from the transplant center and we will need to relocate at the time of transplant possibly for up to six months. In addition Alonzo will be on a lifetime of anti-rejection medications. This puts us up against a challenge that we cannot meet alone and your help is desperately needed.
To help with our out of pocket expenses, we have teamed up with HelpHOPELive, a nonprofit organization that has been assisting the transplant community for nearly 30 years. All donations are tax deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only. If you are able to make a contribution:

Just wanted to update a little information, about the information below. My husband is currently 42 years old, will be 43 in May. He has been living with this disease now for 5 years. With the help of his Drs., family and his determination he is able to cope.
Visit to the Mayo Clinic was good, his heart is staying stable. Next visit to the Mayo Clinic will be June 2015.
We found out today, the Mayo Clinic finally excepted my husband to come down to be evaluated. We are steps closer to getting put on the list, for his heart transplant!!!!
