I have known Jason Rogers for most of his life. He is 37 years old and is kind and gentle and good friend to many. He now needs our help. Jason is in end stage renal failure and his doctors at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta have told him that he needs a life-saving kidney transplant.
At the age of 14, Jason was diagnosed with Lupus. This debilitating disease has sapped him of his strength and well being. He was limited in his activities thru high school, was only able to attend college and work part time and at the age of 30 his kidneys went into renal failure and he has been on dialysis six days of every week. Due to his condition, Jason lives at home where his parents are able to help in monitoring his daily treatments. Now, Jason’s only chance of realizing his dreams of independent living, being able to return to college and holding down a job is to receive this life-saving transplant.
Even with insurance, there are many expenses that are not covered and must be paid out of pocket. Some of these are co-pays, deductibles, travel to and from the transplant center and relocation at the time of transplant. In addition, Jason will be on a life-time of anti-rejection medications. This puts Jason and his family up against a challenge they cannot meet alone and desperately need your help.
A fundraising campaign in his honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the Southwest Kidney Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only. Please consider a contribution.
If we all work together, we can GIVE JASON BACK HIS LIFE. Your support is crucial to helping Jason realize his dreams and goals.
With sincere gratitude,
