Many of you know that I unexpectedly suffered a severe spinal cord injury on August 11, 2012.after being admitted to the hospital I was told that I had damage to my spine at the C3, C4 level and that the T4 area had some as well. I am currently attending outpatient O/T and P/T therapy sessions 3 times a week at Kessler Institute and hope to walk again one day. I am able to use my right arm and I have gotten back a good percentage of use of my left arm. I am much better at doing daily things including my personal care, but still need daily assistance for other things.
It has been almost 2 years since my accident and my biggest challenge is continuing my therapy so that I will be able to walk again. I would love to purchase an FES Stimulator Bike for my home use. The cost of purchasing this Bike is $22,000 and it would provide me with more therapy time to increase my chances of walking. This machine is not medically covered by insurance. This is why I desperately need your help.
A fundraising campaign has been established in my honor with HelpHOPELive, a nonprofit organization that has been assisting the transplant community for 30 years. In 2000, they expanded their mission to include those who have sustained a catastrophic injury. All contributions are tax-deductible, and are held by HelpHOPELive in the Mid-Atlantic Spinal Cord Injury Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for injury related expenses only. Please consider making a contribution.I would like to thank you in advance for you kindness, support and generosity.
